Angus Legion honours local woman

Bernice “Bunny” Harrison, a 97 year old senior and resident of Angus, Ontario was recognized by her local Legion, Branch 499. Bernice was honoured with a LifeTime Membership to the Edward MacDonald Branch 499 of the Royal Canadian Legion for her contributions to the Angus Branch. During the presentation, her accomplishments and support were announced, and Ms. Harrison was introduced to the gathered membership.

One of Bernice’s recent accomplishments was to walk the CN Tower Edge Walk, setting the record for the oldest person to complete a subject walk. Following up, this senior repeated the feat the following year at age 98 and hopes to do it at ages 99 and forward.

During the ceremony, Bernice Harrison was appointed to be the Angus Legion representative to stand up for Silver Cross Mothers. Although Bernice is not an official Silver Cross Mother herself, she applauds being able to stand up for them and is honoured to have received the LifeTime Membership award from the RC Legion Angus Br 499. She took the time to mention she was proud to be a part of this Legion who has contributed and worked hard for her community.
