Veterans Assistance

Branch Veterans Services Officer

At the branch level, the Veterans Services Officer does the following :

Conduct outreach in the community to identify Veterans and their families in need
Assist the Veteran in completing the Legion Claims Form and refer them to a Legion Command Service Officer for individual assistance
Coordinate benevolent financial assistance through the Branch Poppy Fund
Conduct visits to Veterans in retirement and long-term care facilities
Refer Veterans to support and care programs as offered through the Branch and local community

Provincial Service Officer

The Provincial Service Officer visits Branch 499 regularly to talk with veterans and help them navigate getting services through Veterans Affairs. They are a link between veterans and Veterans Affairs and can help all veterans, not just Legion members. Contact us to find out when the Provincial Service Officer will next be at Branch 499.
